The city of Wrightsville is located approximately 15 minutes southeast of Little Rock Arkansas, just off of I-530. Wrightsville is a city in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. Its population was 2,114 at the 2010 census. Wrightsville, Arkansas prides itself on being a safe, community-oriented city, with strong services and programs for youth, families and the elderly. It is a city made up largely of single-family homes with tight community ties. Wrightsville's small town character is exemplified by its citizens and there "Know your Neighbor as your Friend" mentality. Wrightsville is a city that is centrally located to both the Pulaski County and Little Rock school districts and has an outstanding mix of representative in these elementary, middle, and high schools.
Wrightsville incorporated as a town in 1973 and then re-incorporated as a second-class city in 1982 so that city services could be provided to the residents. Wrightsville has been home to the Arkansas Department of Correction Wrightsville Unit, which focuses on educational and rehabilitative services, aiding in workforce preparation, substance abuse recovery, and other aspects of re-entry into society for as many as 850 male and female inmates. The Wrightsville Unit is a major employer in the community, with a staff of 169 employees in various fields.
Easily accessible to Little Rock/North Little Rock, and Pine Bluff by freeway and public transportation, Wrightsville residents enjoy all the benefits of a big town environment, but in a small town atmosphere.
